Services

I work efficiently, prioritizing thoughtful planning over speed to avoid mistakes. Once we develop a plan based on your needs, we will set a reoccurring schedule depending on my level of involvement. My time is billed hourly on an annual contract. Every project is unique and requires flexibility. I’m also available for small projects on an “à la carte” basis.

Working within the Bjornson Wine Collective gives me a great opportunity to offer my clients a winemaking home as well as access to world class grapes. In collaboration with the Bjornsons, I offer my services to any Custom Crush clients at the winery. As the Head Winemaker, I am on site most days already directing production, thereby saving a lot of time in travel and communication that one might spend with an off-site winemaker.

Vineyard Liaison

It all starts with the land; the vine connects the soil to the sky and gives us the gift of grapes. I don’t take that for granted. I can work closely with your vineyard management team to ensure we get the best from our land. If there is a need to source new fruit, develop land, or purchase property, I can assist with my network of connections.

Wine

Wine Maker

My winemaking philosophy is not dogmatic, nor is it a recipe. I make wines of place and time, with years of experience to guide me and the flexibility to find the best path forward. I enjoy a challenge and am not afraid to try something new. I have worked with over 50 varieties of grapes, over three continents, for wineries big and small, making still, sparkling, and dessert wines. I am a good winemaker because I was a great cellar worker first, learning my way while earning my way. I am a good manager because I treat employees with respect and honesty and they, in turn, treat my wine with care.

Time

Brand Ambassador

As a Brand Ambassador, my time is valuable outside of the production space. Establishing a good brand involves more than what we put in the bottle. Every wine needs a name, face, and story. I can help tell that story.
